About Us

Welcome to Cornerstone Medical Clinic! Established in 1995, we are a small, faith-based family practice committed to caring for the whole person.

Our team of providers includes a primary care physician and two nurse practitioners. We are currently growing and expanding our clinic to welcome new patients! This spring we welcomed Family Nurse Practitioner Celeste Shumate to the team.

Our Mission

Our mission is to nurture individuals through quality care, education, and supportive services by providing care for the whole person based on the interrelationship of the body, soul, and spirit.

At Cornerstone Medical Clinic, we believe that Christ's love compels us to be His hand extended to touch our world. Our goal is "offering help along the way" as we work collaboratively through our umbrella association, Christian Health Associates (CHA), in our community, nation, and world.

About Christian Health Associates

Christian Health Associates (CHA) is a non-profit corporation whose success comes through nurturing the varied associates that operate under the CHA umbrella:

Cornerstone Clinic Medical and Counseling Center – A family practice medical clinic and counseling center offering services of physicians, advanced nurse practitioners, licensed marriage and family therapists, professional counselors and clinical social workers. Cornerstone Clinic offers “care for the whole person” through a range of clinical services to help people physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.

Faith-Based Community Initiatives – Connecting resources to need in the community by facilitating a network of faith-based and community organizations, providing technical assistance, sharing opportunities for shared resources and administrative support.

Alaska Medical Missions – A staging area for medical supplies and other humanitarian aid for delivery to developing countries. Alaska Medical Missions receives donations of fully functioning medical supplies and equipment from a number of sources, including hospitals, manufacturers, private medical facilities, and individuals. A volunteer labor force collects, inventories and stages donated items in a warehouse facility, after which they are distributed by short-term mission teams, church youth groups, career missionaries, airline personnel, and others traveling via Alaska to impoverished countries.

Anchorage Project Access – Increases access to health care for low-income uninsured members of the community by using a volunteer network of over 400 providers working in a coordinated fashion to create a compassionate, respectful, equitable, accountable, and efficient program of necessary services for those in need.

School-Based Health Centers – Operating health centers located within Clark Middle school. SBHC provides immunizations, sports physicals, and diagnosis and treatment of minor illness and injury to middle school students with an aim to improve both health access and success at school.

Together with these organizations, CHA is able to reach many more local and global communities. Learn more at
