You have chosen to work with Beth Merrill-Bauer, MFTA. Beth earned her Bachelors' degree in English from the University of Alaska, Anchorage. She also has two masters degrees, the first in English Rhetoric and Composition, and the second in Marriage and Family Therapy. Beth originally joined Cornerstone as a graduate student intern, supervised locally by Linda King, LMFT, AAMFT-approved supervisor through the Northcentral University MA MFT program. She is currently licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapy Associate with the State of Alaska.
Beth currently works with children ages (11-18), adults, couples and families. She specializes in treating families in crisis and has worked extensively with individuals and families struggling with loss, grief, depression, anxiety as well as childhood trauma. Beth's special interests include working with adolescents and their families as well as working with military members struggling with PTSD or other trauma related mental health issues.
Beth has specialized training in working with underrepresented cultures, domestic violence victims, perpetrators, and troubles youth. She is currently in training to learn Eye Movement Reprocessing and Desensitization (EMDR) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy.
