Mary first joined Cornerstone Counseling Clinic as a student intern in 2013.  Before coming to Cornerstone she worked for many years as an Accounting Manager with a local utility company and as a tax professional with H&R Block.  She has also worked with individuals, groups, and families mainly in faith-based (congregational) settings over the past thirty-plus years.

Mary holds a Bachelor’s in Psychology and a Master’s of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regent University located in Virginia Beach, Virginia.  She was licensed as a Professional Counselor by the State of Alaska in August 2016.

 Accepting new clients, Mary uses a person-centered approach to counseling and employs an eclectic use of  Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Gestalt, (to name a few), as deemed necessary by clients’ circumstances.  Mary offers her services to individuals, couples, and teenagers (ages 16 and older)-- with a passion for issues relative to women and married couples, and experience in working with addictions.
